TASK: Give 108 gifts, the more unexpected the better
BONDED TO: Kate Ranalli
The year is winding down and I woke up this morning with a little pinch in my heart.
I’ve been blown off course more than once this year in unexpected ways. Some ways amazing. Some ways very unamazing. Unfortunately, this little Mandala Mala Project of mine has been a bit neglected in the happenings of 2016.
At the moment, the yoga I’m doing is lazy and draggy. I feel like a beginner.
My body is healing wonderfully but, right now doing a traditional mala of 108 sun salutations seems impossible. When I think back to times that I’ve reached and folded my body in that repeating pattern, it was always just past the halfway mark… that I lay belly down on the mat wanting to give up. It was always amazing if I did not. So, it’s no surprise that there is a pinch in my heart.
I reread my About The Project page. I reminded myself that I want to make art that is a gift. A gift that inspires you to give.
With that in mind, the task for this mandala is to give 108 gifts.
They could be tiny things. Like a note or candy left in secret for someone having an unamazing day.
They could be bold things. Like gifting away something you truly treasure to someone having an amazing moment.
You decide how and what it will be. I imagine the more unexpected the better. And hopefully a little less pinch in the heart.
